Dr. Asha Rao, OTD, ORT/L is a skilled Occupational Therapist at M Street Pediatric Therapy.
Dr. Asha Rao is a pediatric occupational therapist dedicated to supporting children and families in Early Intervention across the northern suburbs of Illinois. She specializes in helping infants and toddlers build the foundational skills they need to engage, play, and thrive in their daily routines.
Asha’s background includes experience across outpatient pediatrics, school-based practice, and mental health settings, as well as teaching and research at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Her work integrates evidence-based, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive approaches to care. Asha is particularly passionate about the intersection of pediatric disability, perinatal mental health, and community well-being—areas where she continues to lead and advocate.
In addition to her clinical work, Asha is the founder of The Chicago Kasam, a nonprofit organization focused on community empowerment and mentorship. She also contributes to advocacy efforts through organizations such as Young Invincibles and COTAD Diversity, reflecting her commitment to advancing equitable care for all children and families.
